Exactly! What people forget sometimes is that art is something personal, what works for you maybe won’t work for me. There is no right path for doing good art (well, maybe except always be practing).
I used to avoid fanart because of people telling me that this kind of drawings wouldn’t help me develop my own work, but than I started to think about it and… What about Scott C. and Dan Hipp? Both amazing, and incredibly original artists that are always working on fanart! So I guess it can’t be all that wrong.
